We are pleased to announce that from next season, junior football will return to the club after an absence of 10 years.
We will be running six junior teams at under 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s, 12s and u16s. All teams will be playing in the Warrington Junior Football League following our acceptance at the meeting last Wednesday.
When appointed as Chairman at the beginning of last season, Jim Woodyer vowed to place the club back at the heart of the local community as well as bringing back the success of years gone by.
Success has followed on the pitch for the first team last season as well as the introduction of a Youth team for the first time since the 1990’s. Next season we will grow further with the introduction of a Womens’ Team and now the Junior section.
Jim commented “We introduced our reception coaching sessions at the end of last season and this proved extremely popular due to the level of coaching on offer. We have also worked hard to get things in place for the re-launch of junior football at the club after a 10 year absence. This has now seen fruition and the right people and structure are in place to ensure the young people of St Helens have the correct environment and pathways to progress to a very good standard of grassroots football and beyond. We are delighted to be supported by the Warrington League and welcome all parents and children to enjoy the fantastic 3G surface and facilities at our Ruskin Drive ground.”
The main sponsor for the Junior section will be local business, Small Wonders Daycare Nursery who have signed a two-year sponsorship deal.
